Random Things
So I experienced my first car breakdown experience. Reggie and I were on our way to Trader Joe's and suddenly my radio went dead and the car started acting strange. So I decided to turn around and drive home. We almost made it but abou 1/4 of a mile away at a turn signal the car completely died. My Dad has been bugging me to make sure I had my AAA card in the car and of course I did not have it in the car. So had to call my Dad to get the number to call AAA. Reggie was at first scared that we were stuck on the street and our car wouldn't move but a police car came to the rescue and he saw one burly police officer push our car to a nearby dealership.
AAA came to tow our car and I was told that it was most likely battery and alternator failure. My bro-in law made me take it to the dealer and $1200 later my car was fixed. After that experience I have to say I miss public transportation and paying $63 for a monthly metro card. I have a pretty fuel efficient car but it still cost $40 to fill a week. Luckily I don't live far from work but living in Cali is not cheap.
Reggie's school just recently had a Casino Night/Silent Auction fundraiser. They had pretty good items up for auction: Lakers tickets, Morrissey Tickets (6th row- but most of the parents did not know who he was) and Gucci purses.
I felt a little foolish since I was the only bidder for a VIP table at 40 Deuce Club in Las Vegas. I also walked away with 50K airline miles -so I will be back in NY at some point & mystery dinner for 2 in Marina Del Rey.
So if anyone has plans for Vegas, bachlorette or bachelor party let me know since I don't have any plans to head to Vegas...
