My Brave Knight

Time Change Wreaking Havoc

The time change this past Sunday was not a smooth one. Although I saw plenty of references week of I somehow still forgot. Reggie has chinese class every sunday at 10:30 and what's wonderful about this class is not only does he learn chinese but it is a drop off class for a hour & 20 minutes. For those of you who don't have kids you will come to find out one day that a hour and 20 minutes of free time to your self is huge. So this past Sunday I had big plans. I was in desperate need of a pedicure and eyebrow wax. (Personal Pet Peeve - mother's who take their kids to nail salon). The chinese class is inside the Westide Pavillion ( a mall for you urban folks) and as soon as I walk in it hits me that I forgot to change my clocks. So instead of my blissful hour and 20 minutes - all I get is 20 minutes which is enough time to get my eyebrow waxed. I am still desperate for a pedicure.

I also had to explain the concept of the time change to Reggie because he is use to me picking him up in the dark. If it is a little bright outside he knows that I am early. So the time change has thrown him off as well.

But I do love that the sun is out longer and I now appreciate again that I am in Cali. That day when we missed most of chinese class we spent the rest of the day reaquainting ourselves with the pool and beach. Reggie got a new excavation toy where you can hide 24 dinosaurs in the sand and dig them out. After our trip to the beach we are down to 22 dinosaurs.

Major Happenings in my life is trying to figure out where Kathy and I are going for our big trip in May. We had narrowed it down to Peru and we were going to go on a hike to Machu Picchu. But the goverment permits for the time period have been issued so that is no longer a possibility. Although I am bummed about it maybe it is for the best because it was have been exciting and a very torturous at the same time. So now we are thinking of Vietnam or Argentina. If anyone has any suggestions please weigh in.

I will try and download some pictures since I owe everyone new pictures of Reggie

Wow

I can't believe I have been living in Cali for almost a year now. I keep getting notices to renew my lease. Today during a conference call the fast food clients suddenly asks - who has been talking on the phone this whole time? I said my name and she says are you from the valley? You sound like you are from the valley. I guess my long term stay in NY did not get rid of the cali girl in me (although I swear I do not recall saying "like" during the entire conversation.)

So what is the lastest with moi? I'm not moving anytime soon - The apt I was buying has foundation issues (new construction) and the project is now delayed by 10-12 months. No time to look and now with all the news about the real estate market I think I will wait a month or two before I start looking.

Great star sighting today - Nick Lachey & Vanessa Minnillo going to Quizno's in Santa Monica as me & a co-worker were leaving. Very exciting stuff - she was going in to get his a chicken sandwich.

Work is going well - super busy. I did get a 12 month free netflix account today -perks of the job and I am super excited to catch up on all those films I have not had a chance to watch. One of the funniest video mash ups I have seen is the following -

In the process of planning Reggie's birthday party - it is going to be a Justice League: Super Hero Training Party. Now I have a theme I have been on party planning mode. My ebay account has never seen so much activity in the last 2 years. Besides Iron Ons, I am the proud owner of a 72 inch Batman Blow Up, 35 action hero toys, and an Instant Polaroid Camera. I'm planning to build a small gotham city -- May 5th if anyone is interested - Superman and Wonder Woman will be flying in for the party.

My birthday is right after and I have to get started on my trip planning. Hopefully Kathy and I will be in some exotic locale with some equally exotic males:)

Ok Funny Reggie story. We were at the zoo this past sunday and spring was in the air because the animals were in heat. These 2 elks were walking around with one following behind the other hoping to mate and because of his mutiple unsuccessful attempts he had acquired a crowd hoping he would be successful. All the adults thought it was a hilarious situation. Reggie wanted to know what they were doing. While I was trying to come up with an answer he says Mommy I know what they are doing, they are playing follow the leader. Yes Reggie, that is it.

We also got stuck in an elevator at the California Science Museum 2 weeks ago for a hour and a half. Luckily this guy that was stuck with us had paper and origami skills and kept the kids calm. The kids were super excited when the fireman had to break open the door and let us out. Too bad the jaws of life were not used.

I do owe everyone some pix. I have some recent disneyland pixs I need to add. Reggie is taking his class photo this week and will add those up here to share.

Sorry I have been lame about updating - I have been super busy. Going to Henderson Nevada in 2 weeks - if anyone wants to chill at a resort March 25-28 let me know. I have an extra bed!
