Busy May

I'm sorry for my lack of posts lately. Work has been crazy busy and birthday planning for Reggie's superhero party (or extravaganza as it has turned to) has taken up much of my spare time.

Chicago was a blast - It was great to catch up with Bernadette who I had not seen in awhile (Bernie - Thanks again for letting me crash). Reggie was with his Dad in CT for spring break so I got a chance to have some "me" time in Chicago. I got out of 3 hour Good Friday service and Bernadette was nice enough to just let me sleep in - and we accomplished alot over the weekend: massage, afternoon tea at the Peninsula, some shopping (got some hot red sandals), and a salsa lesson. I've been wanting to take salsa lessons for awhile and definitely getting that first lesson and has inspired me to sign up for a class. So that is my goal for 2007 - learn how to decently Salsa. It was winter cold in Chicago and I realized I have become too used to the CA weather and was happy to get back to LA. I was also happy to have Reggie back since I missed my little man dearly.

This past week I was up at SF for a conference - the conference was ok, definitely did alot more socializing and got to see alot of different hot spots in SF. Went to an amazing Japenese restaurant Ozumo and the best bar is still the Redwood Room at Clift Bar. I did find that SF does have alot of great restaurants - way better food than places in LA, guy to girl ratio is better, but my love and loyalty is still with LA. It was also great to catch up to old co-workers who had great gossip to share - should not be happy in other people's misery but there was one layoff at The BANK that put a smile on my face -

Now to the present - Saturday is Reggie's big birthday bash. I have about 30 kids attending, more than 30 adults attending, and 2 superhero's (superman & wonder woman). My trunk is currently filled with water, juice, sodas and I am debating if I should just leave the stuff in my trunk till Saturday since I need to transport all this stuff to the club house. What's been different about this year's party is that it is not being held at a kid's birthday place and I am doing all the work myself. I built a mini gotham city, created hanging mobiles of superhero symbols and t-shirts for the kids. My biggest stress right now is making sure the club house is decorated before the guests arrive at 10:30. I am half tempted to sleep at the club house so I can make sure everything gets done. I'll make sure I take lots of pictures so you can see how crazed I have gotten with this bday party.

But Reggie is super excited and has been helping out alot. He stuffed the party bags and help glue the windows on Gotham City. He's very excited that he is going to dress up for his party and that he has a massive Spiderman pinata (Miko - thanks for the pinata hook-up).

After I get through this party, I can focus on my upcoming trip to THAILAND:)

A destination has been picked!

I am super excited (Kathy as well) that we finally have booked our trip. South America is out since it's starting to get into Winter there in May and we could not get a hiking pass for Machu Picchu. So we are off to Thailand! We are staying a few nights in Bangkok at the fabulous Peninsula Hotel which is #4 in the Top 100 Hotels in the World List according to Travel & Leisure. Kathy and I will be looking for a sugar daddy at the Peninsula! Then we are off to Phuket where we will be hanging out at the beach and doing a 2 day excursion to the Jungle where we will be canoing, hiking, and becoming one with nature. I will be celebrating my birthday in the Jungle. Kathy - where will you get an Australian Stripper in the Jungle?

Reggie is on spring break and visiting his Dad in CT. It is very strange not to see him everyday and get my morning hugs & kisses. But work has been crazy so what would have been my weekend of fun turned into weekend of work. I had to travel to SF for the day yesterday and missed my flight (way overslept). I have to say I love Southwest. The security lines at LAX are crazy and a Southwest employee escorted me to the front of the security line (she did ask I fake a medical condition) so I could try and make the next flight. It was so unexpected since I wasn't in tears and I didn't beg - She just decided to do a very nice thing.

I'm off to Chicago tomorrow so I have to fight the security lines in the AM. I have a pitch on Thurs and then I'm catching up with Bernadette for the remainder of the week. I may even get to watch her teach a class. I'm back in LA Sunday AM and Reggie will be home by noon. I'm ready for my Reginald to be back with me again!
